Gabriela Méndez Cota is a member of the Philosophy Department at the Universidad Iberoamericana, in Mexico City. Her work addresses the cultural aspects of techno scientific controversies in Mexico, through philosophical perspectives in cultural studies, including deconstruction, post-Marxism, and feminism. Her current research interests are infrapolitics, queer theory, environmental violence and climate chaos. She is author of Disrupting Maize: Food, Biotechnology and Nationalism in Contemporary Mexico (Rowman & Littlefield, 2016).
